Solar Panels Sunnybank: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Sunnybank system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Sunnybank makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Sunnybank is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. We look after Sunnybank and the surrounding suburbs of Robertson, Coopers Plains and MacGregor, so a free on-site measure in 4109 is easy to book.

About Sunnybank
Jagera people lived across this land for over 20,000 years. The railway pushed through from Yeerongpilly in 1885, and the town was surveyed the next year, with lots selling in 1887. The name comes from the Gillespie family's Sunny Brae Estate, brae being Scots for bank. A popular gardens and swimming pool complex drew visitors from 1938 until it shut in 1989.
Known across Brisbane for its Asian restaurants and grocers, the suburb has Sunnybank Plaza and Market Square at its core, with Westfield Garden City close by. In 2021, 35 per cent of residents reported Chinese ancestry. Three stations, Banoon, Sunnybank and Altandi, sit on the rail line, and Sunnybank Private Hospital, several schools and two rugby clubs round out local life.

Solar panels in Sunnybank: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Sunnybank?
Most Sunnybank homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Sunnybank?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Sunnybank?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Sunnybank 4109 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Sunnybank is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Robertson, Coopers Plains, MacGregor, Sunnybank Hills. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
