Taigum: a local snapshot
Land here was first carved up around 1853 as part of a subdivision of the Nundah Division. The name, from an Aboriginal word for lawyer cane, only became official in August 1975. Zillmere North State School opened in 1957 and took the Taigum name in 1993. Taigum Square opened in 1982 and was enlarged in 2001, and St Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church opened in 1995.
Townhouses here often share roof space and have limited area, so a smaller array sized to daytime use can work, while detached homes may have room for a battery as well.
