Why Virginia homes choose RS Energy for ev chargers

A standard power point adds only about 10km of range an hour. A dedicated 7kW wall charger is around four times faster, and a solar-aware charger can soak up your surplus solar during the day instead of exporting it for a few cents.

We check your switchboard and main supply, recommend single or three phase charging, and install the charger neatly where your car actually parks. In Virginia we can also pair the charger with new solar or a battery so it all works together.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our ev chargers work in Virginia also covers neighbouring Banyo, Geebung and Northgate, all within about 2km.

Virginia: a local snapshot

Farmland covered much of Virginia until the North Coast railway arrived in 1888 and the district took shape. The name is thought to come from the American state. Through the 1890s industry moved in, including a brickworks and a pipe works. The heritage-listed state school on Sandgate Road opened in February 1920, though serious house building did not get going until the 1950s.

Plenty of 1950s homes here have low-pitched roofs and open yards, which suits a straightforward north or west-facing array, while creekside blocks should keep electrical gear well clear of the ground.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?

A 7kW charger is typically $1,000 to $2,300 installed. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, allow another $800 to $2,200. We give a fixed price after a quick check.

Can I charge my EV from solar?

Yes. A solar-aware charger adjusts its charging speed to match your surplus solar, so you use your own power instead of exporting it. It works best if the car is home during the day.

Do I need three phase power?

No. Most homes are well served by a 7kW single phase charger, which comfortably fills most cars overnight. Three phase allows 11kW to 22kW if your home already has it.
