Solar batteries in Clayfield, with the rebate applied
Cut your evening power bill with a home battery, installed neatly and set up to make the most of current tariffs.
Solar batteries for Clayfield, planned around your home
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Clayfield households.
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. From Clayfield to nearby Kalinga and Nundah, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.
- Many Clayfield homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Getting to know Clayfield
Roughly 7.4 kilometres by road north-east of the city, Clayfield takes in the Eagle Junction area and runs up to Kalinga Park. Heritage-listed homes are plentiful, including Federation, interwar and California bungalow styles alongside classic Queenslanders. Trains stop at both Clayfield and Eagle Junction, and four schools sit within the suburb, making it a busy spot at drop-off time.
California bungalows and Federation homes often have hipped roofs with several faces, which suits splitting panels east and west to spread generation across the day for families home after school.

Solar batteries in Clayfield: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Clayfield?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
Do you service Clayfield 4011 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Clayfield is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Kalinga, Nundah, Hendra, Wooloowin. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
