Solar batteries in Fig Tree Pocket, with the rebate applied
Cut your evening power bill with a home battery, installed neatly and set up to make the most of current tariffs.
Solar batteries for Fig Tree Pocket, planned around your home
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Fig Tree Pocket households.
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. From Fig Tree Pocket to nearby Sherwood and Graceville, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Fig Tree Pocket
The river loops around three sides of this pocket, with the Centenary Motorway closing off the north-west. Just over 4,300 people live here, about 13.1 km south-west of the CBD. Lone Pine, billed as the world's oldest and largest koala sanctuary, draws visitors, while a 16 hectare equestrian club and the Riverside Reserve boat ramp serve locals. Some properties were hit by the 2010 to 2011 floods.
Riverfront blocks that went under in the 2010 to 2011 floods are a reminder to place inverters and batteries well above known flood levels, and to plan a system that can be isolated quickly if water rises.

Solar batteries in Fig Tree Pocket: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Fig Tree Pocket?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
