Solar panels for Fig Tree Pocket, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Fig Tree Pocket homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Fig Tree Pocket makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Fig Tree Pocket is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. Getting to know Fig Tree Pocket
John Oxley rowed past in 1823 while exploring the Brisbane River. In 1866 a reserve of 1.6 hectares was set aside around an enormous Moreton Bay fig said to shelter 400 people, and that tree gave the area its name, though it is long gone. A school opened in 1871 and a post office in 1878. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary followed in 1927.
The river loops around three sides of this pocket, with the Centenary Motorway closing off the north-west. Just over 4,300 people live here, about 13.1 km south-west of the CBD. Lone Pine, billed as the world's oldest and largest koala sanctuary, draws visitors, while a 16 hectare equestrian club and the Riverside Reserve boat ramp serve locals. Some properties were hit by the 2010 to 2011 floods.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Fig Tree Pocket?
Most Fig Tree Pocket homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Fig Tree Pocket?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Fig Tree Pocket?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Fig Tree Pocket 4069 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Fig Tree Pocket is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Sherwood, Graceville, Chelmer, Sinnamon Park. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
