Solar batteries in Scarborough, with the rebate applied
Use your own solar at night and keep essentials running in a blackout. The federal battery discount comes straight off your quote.
Solar Batteries Scarborough: local, honest, done right
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Scarborough households.
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. We look after Scarborough and the surrounding suburbs of Newport, Redcliffe and Kippa-Ring, so a free on-site measure in 4020 is easy to book.
- Being close to the water, Scarborough gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

About Scarborough
Water surrounds Scarborough on three sides, with Deception Bay to the north west and Moreton Bay to the north and east. The 13.7 hectare boat harbour is one of the busiest spots, and divers know Turner Reef, an artificial reef about one nautical mile offshore. Landsborough Avenue is the main street, full of cafés. Points and beaches line the shore, from Castlereagh Point to Queens Beach.
Exposed headlands mean strong onshore winds and salt, so wind rated mounting and coastal grade panels make sense. Compact blocks here often rely on making the most of every roof face.

Solar batteries in Scarborough: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Scarborough?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
Do you service Scarborough 4020 and nearby suburbs?
