Solar Panels Scarborough: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Scarborough system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Scarborough makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Scarborough is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. We look after Scarborough and the surrounding suburbs of Newport, Redcliffe and Kippa-Ring, so a free on-site measure in 4020 is easy to book.
- Being close to the water, Scarborough gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

About Scarborough
Scarborough began as a marine township in 1878, when the first blocks went under the hammer, and the leftover lots sold in 1882. The state school arrived in 1925, and then the Hornibrook Highway opened in 1935, giving Brisbane residents a direct road link and sparking a fast run of building on the peninsula's northern tip.
Water surrounds Scarborough on three sides, with Deception Bay to the north west and Moreton Bay to the north and east. The 13.7 hectare boat harbour is one of the busiest spots, and divers know Turner Reef, an artificial reef about one nautical mile offshore. Landsborough Avenue is the main street, full of cafés. Points and beaches line the shore, from Castlereagh Point to Queens Beach.

Solar panels in Scarborough: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Scarborough?
Most Scarborough homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Scarborough?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Scarborough?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Scarborough 4020 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Scarborough is part of our North Brisbane & Moreton Bay service area in the City of Moreton Bay area, and we regularly work in Newport, Redcliffe, Kippa-Ring, Margate. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
