Why Mackenzie homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Mackenzie quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Mackenzie makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Mackenzie is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. Our solar panels work in Mackenzie also covers neighbouring Wishart, Mansfield and Rochedale, all within about 3km.

Mackenzie: a local snapshot

Mount Petrie State School opened at the end of March 1955, an early sign of settlement here. Mount Gravatt Special School, which began in 1971, relocated to Mackenzie in September 2012. Over the past decade or so several new residential estates have added hundreds of houses to what had been a quiet, partly bush-covered corner of Brisbane.

Small and fairly quiet, Mackenzie still has patches of undeveloped bushland between its estates. There is no shopping centre, only a petrol station, so residents drive to neighbouring suburbs for groceries. The Gateway Motorway and Mount Gravatt to Capalaba Road pass through, making the city about 20 km by road. A state primary, a special school and two churches serve the community.

How much does solar cost in Mackenzie?

Most Mackenzie homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Mackenzie?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Mackenzie?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Mackenzie 4156 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Mackenzie is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Wishart, Mansfield, Rochedale, Carindale. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
