Solar Panels Moorooka: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Moorooka system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Moorooka makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Moorooka is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. We look after Moorooka and the surrounding suburbs of Yeerongpilly, Salisbury and Tarragindi, so a free on-site measure in 4105 is easy to book.

About Moorooka
Travellers heading south and south-west out of Brisbane used this area as a stopover. The Fairmount Estate came up for auction in 1884, and Moorooka Park Estate was split into 329 lots in 1889. The state school opened in January 1929, trams arrived in 1937 and the council's bowls club opened in 1968. The name may come from an Indigenous word for ironbark.
Two sides to this suburb: the higher eastern half is mostly houses and runs up against Toohey Forest Park, while the lower western side along Ipswich Road is lined with car yards and shops. Moorooka Central shopping centre and the railway station serve locals, with the Gold Coast line running along part of the western edge. St Brendan's and Moorooka State School cover the primary years.

Solar panels in Moorooka: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Moorooka?
Most Moorooka homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Moorooka?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Moorooka?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Moorooka 4105 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Moorooka is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Yeerongpilly, Salisbury, Tarragindi, Annerley. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
