Solar Panels Surfers Paradise: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Surfers Paradise system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Surfers Paradise makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Surfers Paradise is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara. We look after Surfers Paradise and the surrounding suburbs of Chevron Island, Isle of Capri and Bundall, so a free on-site measure in 4217 is easy to book.
- Being close to the water, Surfers Paradise gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

About Surfers Paradise
James Beattie farmed near the Nerang River as the first European settler, and in 1877 Johan Meyer bought land and ran a ferry from 1880 to 1928. By 1889 the place was known as Elston. Jim Cavill opened the Surfers Paradise Hotel in 1925 and pushed for a catchier name, which became official on 1 December 1933. Kinkabool, ten storeys high, kicked off the high-rise era in 1959.
A continuous surf beach runs down the eastern side, while the Nerang River curls around the north-west past canal islands such as Chevron and the Isle of Capri. Cavill Avenue is the heart of the nightlife, the Q1 tower dominates the skyline and five G:link light rail stations serve the strip. Housing is mostly high-rise apartments, with canal estates further back from the beach.

Solar panels in Surfers Paradise: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Surfers Paradise?
Most Surfers Paradise homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Surfers Paradise?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Surfers Paradise?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Surfers Paradise 4217 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Surfers Paradise is part of our Central Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Chevron Island, Isle of Capri, Bundall, Sorrento. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
