Why Banyo homes choose RS Energy for ev chargers

A standard power point adds only about 10km of range an hour. A dedicated 7kW wall charger is around four times faster, and a solar-aware charger can soak up your surplus solar during the day instead of exporting it for a few cents.

We check your switchboard and main supply, recommend single or three phase charging, and install the charger neatly where your car actually parks. In Banyo we can also pair the charger with new solar or a battery so it all works together.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our ev chargers work in Banyo also covers neighbouring Nudgee, Virginia and Northgate, all within about 2km.

Banyo: a local snapshot

Turrbal people lived here first. Europeans arrived in 1849, when the spot was called Clapham Junction, and estates were sold from 1884. Railways secretary James Dickson chose the name Banyo in 1897, from an Aboriginal word for a hill or ridge. That hill was quarried away during World War II to build Eagle Farm Airport. St Pius' school opened in 1947 and Banyo State High in 1954.

Newer homes in estates like Couture and Summerlin often have modern, uncluttered roofs that suit a well-planned array, with a battery helping cover evening use when everyone is home.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?

A 7kW charger is typically $1,000 to $2,300 installed. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, allow another $800 to $2,200. We give a fixed price after a quick check.

Can I charge my EV from solar?

Yes. A solar-aware charger adjusts its charging speed to match your surplus solar, so you use your own power instead of exporting it. It works best if the car is home during the day.

Do I need three phase power?

No. Most homes are well served by a 7kW single phase charger, which comfortably fills most cars overnight. Three phase allows 11kW to 22kW if your home already has it.

Do you install EV chargers in Banyo units and townhouses?

Often, yes, subject to body corporate approval and the building supply. We can provide the technical details your body corporate will ask for.
