EV charger installation in Hawthorne
A 7kW home charger adds around 40km of range an hour, and with solar it can cost close to nothing.
Why Hawthorne homes choose RS Energy for ev chargers
A standard power point adds only about 10km of range an hour. A dedicated 7kW wall charger is around four times faster, and a solar-aware charger can soak up your surplus solar during the day instead of exporting it for a few cents.
We check your switchboard and main supply, recommend single or three phase charging, and install the charger neatly where your car actually parks. In Hawthorne we can also pair the charger with new solar or a battery so it all works together.
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our ev chargers work in Hawthorne also covers neighbouring New Farm, Norman Park and Teneriffe, all within about 1km.
- Many Hawthorne homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Hawthorne: a local snapshot
Farms covered this stretch in the 1860s. One story says butcher William Baynes bought land in 1875 and named it after Hawthorn in Melbourne, where he had lived. Another credits the hawthorn bushes he planted. Ferry and tram services helped it grow, and estates came up for sale from 1885 right through to 1935.
Traditional Queenslanders on tree lined avenues usually have tin roofs well suited to panels, but street trees can cast shade, so checking roof exposure across the seasons pays off.

Call 0449 942 735How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
A 7kW charger is typically $1,000 to $2,300 installed. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, allow another $800 to $2,200. We give a fixed price after a quick check.
Can I charge my EV from solar?
Yes. A solar-aware charger adjusts its charging speed to match your surplus solar, so you use your own power instead of exporting it. It works best if the car is home during the day.
