Why Norman Park homes choose RS Energy for ev chargers

A standard power point adds only about 10km of range an hour. A dedicated 7kW wall charger is around four times faster, and a solar-aware charger can soak up your surplus solar during the day instead of exporting it for a few cents.

We check your switchboard and main supply, recommend single or three phase charging, and install the charger neatly where your car actually parks. In Norman Park we can also pair the charger with new solar or a battery so it all works together.

Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our ev chargers work in Norman Park also covers neighbouring East Brisbane, Seven Hills and Hawthorne, all within about 1km.

  • Many Norman Park homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Norman Park: a local snapshot

Settlers arrived in 1853, and Louis Hope received a 40 acre grant a year later. Growth slowed after the 1893 floods. The name probably began as an estate name in the 1890s, tied to Norman Creek and Governor Henry Wylie Norman. A subdivision of 364 lots came in 1922, and public housing drove rapid growth after World War II, with homes not sewered until the late 1960s.

Post war homes on the higher ground get good roof exposure, but houses near reclaimed land along Norman Creek should think about flood levels when placing a battery or inverter.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?

A 7kW charger is typically $1,000 to $2,300 installed. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, allow another $800 to $2,200. We give a fixed price after a quick check.

Can I charge my EV from solar?

Yes. A solar-aware charger adjusts its charging speed to match your surplus solar, so you use your own power instead of exporting it. It works best if the car is home during the day.

Do I need three phase power?
