EV charger installation in Kalinga
Charge your car overnight or straight from your solar. A neat, safe home charger installed by electricians who understand solar.
Why Kalinga homes choose RS Energy for ev chargers
A standard power point adds only about 10km of range an hour. A dedicated 7kW wall charger is around four times faster, and a solar-aware charger can soak up your surplus solar during the day instead of exporting it for a few cents.
We check your switchboard and main supply, recommend single or three phase charging, and install the charger neatly where your car actually parks. In Kalinga we can also pair the charger with new solar or a battery so it all works together.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our ev chargers work in Kalinga also covers neighbouring Clayfield, Nundah and Wooloowin, all within about 1km.
- Many Kalinga homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Kalinga: a local snapshot
The name comes from Ngalinnga, probably a Turrbal word meaning belonging to us. Justice Alfred Lutwyche once owned this land, and his home, Kedron Lodge, still stands and is heritage-listed. The Kedron Park Estate went to auction in October 1888. Trams ran here from 1927 to 1962, and the war memorial gates at Kalinga Park opened in 1920. It only became its own suburb, split from Wooloowin, in 2015.
Flat, low-lying blocks near Kedron Brook mean flood planning matters, so mounting inverters and batteries up high on a wall is a smart move for Queenslanders on stumps.

A 7kW charger is typically $1,000 to $2,300 installed. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, allow another $800 to $2,200. We give a fixed price after a quick check.
Can I charge my EV from solar?
Yes. A solar-aware charger adjusts its charging speed to match your surplus solar, so you use your own power instead of exporting it. It works best if the car is home during the day.
