Getting to know Logan Village
Logan Village marked the furthest point boats could travel up the Logan River, a river Governor Ralph Darling named after Captain Patrick Logan. After the Logan Agricultural Reserve was proclaimed in 1862, the township was surveyed in 1865 with lots of about an acre each. A wharf and store were built to serve a cotton plantation, and the Beaudesert railway arrived in September 1885.
Semi-rural blocks around the village usually have room and few neighbours to shade the roof, and being a little out of the way makes battery backup during outages a practical consideration.
