Getting to know Windaroo
The suburb borrows its name from the Windaroo sugar plantation, one of several 19th century ventures along the Albert River. Later the land was used for dairying and stayed rural until the late 1970s, when the Windaroo Acres rural residential estate was subdivided. Boundaries were set in June 1981, the first lots went on sale in 1983, and the area moved from the City of Gold Coast to Logan in 2008.
Rural residential blocks from the Windaroo Acres estate were laid out with room to spare, which can fit a bigger system on the house or a shed, and a battery helps carry that daytime solar into the evening.
