Going solar in Logan Village

Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben.

Logan mixes established family suburbs, fast-growing estates like Yarrabilba and Park Ridge, and acreage around Jimboomba and Greenbank. Big households and big air conditioning loads make solar and batteries pay back quickly here.

Logan Village is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Low-lying pockets of Logan Village sit inside council flood mapping. Where it matters we mount inverters and batteries above the flood planning level and keep isolators easy to reach.
  • Plenty of Logan Village properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Logan Village: history and local area

Logan Village marked the furthest point boats could travel up the Logan River, a river Governor Ralph Darling named after Captain Patrick Logan. After the Logan Agricultural Reserve was proclaimed in 1862, the township was surveyed in 1865 with lots of about an acre each. A wharf and store were built to serve a cotton plantation, and the Beaudesert railway arrived in September 1885.

The Logan River cuts straight through this low-density, semi-rural town, alongside the old Beaudesert rail line and Waterford-Tamborine Road. Shops are few, but the Village Green, the public library and the museum in the old school grounds give the place a centre. Golfers have the 18-hole Village Links, and parks include Big River Country Park and Quinzeh Creek Park. The state school had 691 students in 2018.

Semi-rural blocks around the village usually have room and few neighbours to shade the roof, and being a little out of the way makes battery backup during outages a practical consideration.
