Solar batteries in Cabarita Beach, with the rebate applied
Add a battery to new or existing solar in Cabarita Beach, sized honestly to your evening usage, not the biggest box on the shelf.
Why Cabarita Beach homes choose RS Energy for solar batteries
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Cabarita Beach households.
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. Our solar batteries work in Cabarita Beach also covers neighbouring Bogangar, Hastings Point and Tanglewood, all within about 4km.
- Being close to the water, Cabarita Beach gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Cabarita Beach: a local snapshot
This is a thin strip of beachside land east of Tweed Coast Road, just 1.4 square kilometres in area and home to about 100 people in 2021. Norries Headland and its rocky cliffs break up the beach, and there is a well-known surf spot north of the headland. Tweed Heads is about 20 km to the north.
Right on the ocean, roofs here take a steady dose of salt spray, so stainless or marine-rated fixings and the odd freshwater rinse help keep a system producing well for its full life.

Solar batteries in Cabarita Beach: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Cabarita Beach?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in NSW. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
