Solar batteries in Casuarina, with the rebate applied
Add a battery to new or existing solar in Casuarina, sized honestly to your evening usage, not the biggest box on the shelf.
Why Casuarina homes choose RS Energy for solar batteries
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Casuarina households.
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. Our solar batteries work in Casuarina also covers neighbouring Kings Forest, Cudgen and Kingscliff, all within about 3km.
- Being close to the water, Casuarina gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.
- Newer homes in Casuarina usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Casuarina: a local snapshot
At the 2021 census Casuarina had about 3,260 residents with a median age of 41. It sits close to the Pacific Ocean, roughly 17 km south of Tweed Heads and 117 km from Brisbane. Around 79 per cent of residents were born in Australia. The locality belongs to the Tweed state electorate and the federal Division of Richmond.
Being close to the Pacific, homes in Casuarina face salty onshore air, so marine-grade mounting hardware and panels tested for salt mist are worth asking about when comparing quotes.

Solar batteries in Casuarina: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Casuarina?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in NSW. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
