Solar batteries in Cannon Hill, with the rebate applied
Add a battery to new or existing solar in Cannon Hill, sized honestly to your evening usage, not the biggest box on the shelf.
Why Cannon Hill homes choose RS Energy for solar batteries
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Cannon Hill households.
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our solar batteries work in Cannon Hill also covers neighbouring Carina, Seven Hills and Murarrie, all within about 2km.

Cannon Hill: a local snapshot
Sitting 10.4 km east of the CBD by road, the suburb covers 3.8 square kilometres and had about 6,700 residents in 2021. It has its own train and bus stations, three shopping centres including the Kmart Plaza and Cannon Central, and a School of Arts used as a community hall. Cannon Hill State School, St Oliver Plunkett and Cannon Hill Anglican College serve local families.
Being close to the rail line and shops does not change the sun, but the mix of older homes and heritage-listed sites means roof condition and orientation should be checked before choosing panel layout.

Solar batteries in Cannon Hill: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Cannon Hill?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
