Going solar in Cannon Hill
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Cannon Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Cannon Hill: history and local area
Two fallen trees that looked like a cannon gave Thornhill Weedon the name for his house, built in 1867, and the suburb most likely took its name from it. The area stayed largely bush until the Cleveland railway arrived in 1889. Brisbane's livestock saleyards moved here from Newmarket in 1931, and in 1973 a Kmart plaza replaced the old drive-in.
Sitting 10.4 km east of the CBD by road, the suburb covers 3.8 square kilometres and had about 6,700 residents in 2021. It has its own train and bus stations, three shopping centres including the Kmart Plaza and Cannon Central, and a School of Arts used as a community hall. Cannon Hill State School, St Oliver Plunkett and Cannon Hill Anglican College serve local families.
Being close to the rail line and shops does not change the sun, but the mix of older homes and heritage-listed sites means roof condition and orientation should be checked before choosing panel layout.
