Why Cannon Hill homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Cannon Hill quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Cannon Hill makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Cannon Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our solar panels work in Cannon Hill also covers neighbouring Carina, Seven Hills and Murarrie, all within about 2km.

Cannon Hill: a local snapshot

Two fallen trees that looked like a cannon gave Thornhill Weedon the name for his house, built in 1867, and the suburb most likely took its name from it. The area stayed largely bush until the Cleveland railway arrived in 1889. Brisbane's livestock saleyards moved here from Newmarket in 1931, and in 1973 a Kmart plaza replaced the old drive-in.

Sitting 10.4 km east of the CBD by road, the suburb covers 3.8 square kilometres and had about 6,700 residents in 2021. It has its own train and bus stations, three shopping centres including the Kmart Plaza and Cannon Central, and a School of Arts used as a community hall. Cannon Hill State School, St Oliver Plunkett and Cannon Hill Anglican College serve local families.

How much does solar cost in Cannon Hill?

Most Cannon Hill homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Cannon Hill?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Cannon Hill?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Cannon Hill 4170 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Cannon Hill is part of our Inner Brisbane service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Carina, Seven Hills, Murarrie, Morningside. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
