Solar batteries in Dakabin, with the rebate applied
Add a battery to new or existing solar in Dakabin, sized honestly to your evening usage, not the biggest box on the shelf.
Why Dakabin homes choose RS Energy for solar batteries
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Dakabin households.
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. Our solar batteries work in Dakabin also covers neighbouring Kurwongbah, North Lakes and Narangba, all within about 3km.
- Newer homes in Dakabin usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Dakabin: a local snapshot
A compact suburb of under 6 square kilometres, Dakabin is squeezed between the North Coast railway on the west and the Bruce Highway on the east. Trains from the local station run to Brisbane, Ipswich, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast. Weekend sport centres on Bob Brock Park, which has two cricket ovals and three soccer pitches used by North Pine United. The city is about 34 km south.
Dakabin's station puts commuters on a direct line to the city, and for households that are out during the day, a battery helps move midday solar generation into the evening peak.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Dakabin?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
Do you service Dakabin 4503 and nearby suburbs?
