Why Dakabin homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Dakabin quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Dakabin makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Dakabin is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. Our solar panels work in Dakabin also covers neighbouring Kurwongbah, North Lakes and Narangba, all within about 3km.

  • Newer homes in Dakabin usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Dakabin: a local snapshot

Dakabin's name is drawn from a Yugarabul word for the grass tree. The year 1978 was a big one: Dakabin State High School opened in January, and Northpine Christian College moved here in March after a fire at its old Zillmere site. Older locals will also remember Alma Park Zoo, which ran here from 1969 until it relocated to The Big Pineapple in 2014.

A compact suburb of under 6 square kilometres, Dakabin is squeezed between the North Coast railway on the west and the Bruce Highway on the east. Trains from the local station run to Brisbane, Ipswich, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast. Weekend sport centres on Bob Brock Park, which has two cricket ovals and three soccer pitches used by North Pine United. The city is about 34 km south.

How much does solar cost in Dakabin?

Most Dakabin homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Dakabin?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Dakabin?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Dakabin 4503 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Dakabin is part of our North Brisbane & Moreton Bay service area in the City of Moreton Bay area, and we regularly work in Kurwongbah, North Lakes, Narangba, Kallangur. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
