Solar batteries in Dunbible, with the rebate applied
Add a battery to new or existing solar in Dunbible, sized honestly to your evening usage, not the biggest box on the shelf.
Why Dunbible homes choose RS Energy for solar batteries
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Dunbible households.
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. Our solar batteries work in Dunbible also covers neighbouring Stokers Siding, South Murwillumbah and Murwillumbah, all within about 5km.
- Plenty of Dunbible properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Dunbible: a local snapshot
Its standout landmark is the heritage-listed Dunbible Creek Bridge, a 65-metre steel truss span from 1894 designed by Henry Deane and restored in 2022. The Northern Rivers Rail Trail now runs through. At the 2011 census 329 people lived here, on Coodjingburra clan land within Tweed Shire and the 2484 postcode.
Small farms with a dairy or cattle history often have large shed roofs that make good solar platforms, keeping panels off the house and powering pumps and workshop gear during the day.

Solar batteries in Dunbible: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Dunbible?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in NSW. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
