Solar batteries in Terranora, with the rebate applied
Use your own solar at night and keep essentials running in a blackout. The federal battery discount comes straight off your quote.
Solar Batteries Terranora: local, honest, done right
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Terranora households.
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. We look after Terranora and the surrounding suburbs of Bungalora, Bilambil Heights and Bilambil, so a free on-site measure in 2486 is easy to book.
- Plenty of Terranora properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

About Terranora
Roughly 3,400 residents lived in Terranora in 2021. Two schools shape local life here: Terranora Public School and the senior campus of Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, so school runs set the rhythm of many mornings and afternoons. At state level it falls in the Tweed electorate, and federally in the Division of Richmond, as part of the wider Tweed Heads urban area.
With two schools in the suburb, plenty of homes are busy at drop-off and again after school, so it is worth sizing solar and any battery around those morning and evening peaks rather than midday use alone.

Solar batteries in Terranora: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Terranora?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Tweed homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. NSW also pays a separate incentive when you connect your battery to an approved virtual power plant (VPP). The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in NSW. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
