Why Bunya homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Bunya quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Bunya makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Bunya is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. Our solar panels work in Bunya also covers neighbouring Ferny Hills, Eatons Hill and Arana Hills, all within about 4km.

Bunya: a local snapshot

Bunya takes its name from the Kabi word bonyi or bunyi, meaning the bunya pine. A state school opened here in January 1875 and served the district for 90 years before closing in 1965. The old Bunya Cemetery is now closed, and just one headstone survives, dated 1892. Beyond these traces, the area has stayed lightly settled, with forest and open space shaping its character.

Fewer than 2,000 people spread across 14.5 square kilometres. The South Pine River marks the north, crossed by a ford at the end of Dugandan Road. Open forest of spotted gum, ironbark and tallowwood fills Bunyaville Conservation Park, which shelters a gum found only around Brisbane. The Pine Hills Pythons and Pine Hills Netball Club play at James Drysdale Recreation Reserve.

How much does solar cost in Bunya?

Most Bunya homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Bunya?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Bunya?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Bunya 4055 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Bunya is part of our North Brisbane & Moreton Bay service area in the City of Moreton Bay area, and we regularly work in Ferny Hills, Eatons Hill, Arana Hills, Ferny Grove. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
