Solar panels in Duranbah, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Duranbah homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Duranbah quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Duranbah makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Duranbah is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. Our solar panels work in Duranbah also covers neighbouring Tanglewood, Bogangar and Kings Forest, all within about 3km.
- Plenty of Duranbah properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Duranbah: a local snapshot
Duranbah's best-known business, Tropical Fruit World, was established in 1972 as a working farm that doubles as a tourist attraction. The locality sits on Tweed land traditionally owned by Ngandowal and Minyungbal-speaking Bundjalung people. At the 2011 census only 262 people lived here, so it remains one of the smaller pockets of Tweed Shire.
Set about 65 metres above sea level, Duranbah looks out over the Tweed Valley and the Pacific Motorway. It is roughly 21 km south of Tweed Heads and 104 km from Brisbane. The locality votes in the Tweed state electorate and falls in the federal Division of Richmond, with Tropical Fruit World its main drawcard.

Solar panels in Duranbah: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Duranbah?
Most Duranbah homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Duranbah?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Essential Energy export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Duranbah?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Duranbah 2487 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Duranbah is part of our Tweed Heads & Tweed Coast service area in the Tweed Shire Council area, and we regularly work in Tanglewood, Bogangar, Kings Forest, Cudgen. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
