Solar panels for Hemmant, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Hemmant homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Hemmant makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Hemmant is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration. From Hemmant to nearby Lindum and Pinkenba, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Hemmant

Farmers bought land here from 1858 for fruit, vegetables and, in the early 1860s, sugar cane with its own mills. Part of the district was once called Doughboy Creek. The suburb now honours William Hemmant, the colonial treasurer who represented Bulimba from 1873 to 1876. An aquarium opened in 1889 with a 684 lot estate, and the Hemmant Park subdivision followed in 1924.

The Brisbane River forms the northern edge and Bulimba Creek the western one. North of the railway lines the land is mostly industrial and linked to the port, while homes sit to the south. Just under 2,900 people live here, about 11 km east of the city. Hemmant station is on the Cleveland line, and the 24 hectare quarry reserve offers walking tracks.

How much does solar cost in Hemmant?

Most Hemmant homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Hemmant?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Hemmant?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Hemmant 4174 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Hemmant is part of our Brisbane Bayside East service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Lindum, Pinkenba, Wynnum West, Murarrie. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
