Going solar in Hemmant
Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Hemmant is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Hemmant: history and local area
Farmers bought land here from 1858 for fruit, vegetables and, in the early 1860s, sugar cane with its own mills. Part of the district was once called Doughboy Creek. The suburb now honours William Hemmant, the colonial treasurer who represented Bulimba from 1873 to 1876. An aquarium opened in 1889 with a 684 lot estate, and the Hemmant Park subdivision followed in 1924.
The Brisbane River forms the northern edge and Bulimba Creek the western one. North of the railway lines the land is mostly industrial and linked to the port, while homes sit to the south. Just under 2,900 people live here, about 11 km east of the city. Hemmant station is on the Cleveland line, and the 24 hectare quarry reserve offers walking tracks.
With the river and Bulimba Creek on two sides, it makes sense to mount inverters and batteries up off the floor where possible, and to keep flood planning in mind when choosing equipment locations.
