Solar Panels Mount Gravatt: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Mount Gravatt system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Mount Gravatt makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Mount Gravatt is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. We look after Mount Gravatt and the surrounding suburbs of Holland Park West, Mount Gravatt East and Nathan, so a free on-site measure in 4122 is easy to book.

About Mount Gravatt

Yuggera and Turrbal people lived here long before Europeans, calling the hill Kagarr-mabul, the place of echidnas. In 1840 surveyor Robert Dixon named it after Lieutenant George Gravatt, briefly in charge of the Moreton Bay penal colony. A state school opened in 1874, subdivisions were advertised in 1888, and trams ran along Logan Road from 1953 to 1969.

The hill and its lookout, reached up Shire Road, look out across south-east Brisbane, and a walking trail on the southern slope passes a cave complex. Down below, Mount Gravatt Central on Logan Road, the showgrounds, the 1967 library on Creek Road and several schools serve locals. Over time the old suburb was carved into Mount Gravatt East, Upper Mount Gravatt and Wishart.

How much does solar cost in Mount Gravatt?

Most Mount Gravatt homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Mount Gravatt?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Mount Gravatt?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Mount Gravatt 4122 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Mount Gravatt is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Holland Park West, Mount Gravatt East, Nathan, Holland Park. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
