Why Redland Bay homes choose RS Energy for commercial solar

Businesses use most of their power during the day, which is exactly when solar produces. That makes commercial solar one of the fastest paybacks in energy, often 3 to 5 years. RS Energy has delivered large-scale installs across Queensland for tier one clients, and we give Redland Bay businesses the same standard with a family company's attention.

We start with your interval data or bills, model your load profile, then design a system that maximises self-consumption within Energex connection rules. Since 1 October 2026 the upfront small-scale rebate (STCs) covers commercial systems up to 1MW, where it used to stop at 100kW. For mid-sized systems that can take a meaningful chunk off the upfront cost, and we will show you exactly what your business qualifies for.

The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon. Our commercial solar work in Redland Bay also covers neighbouring Carbrook, Victoria Point and Mount Cotton, all within about 7km.

  • Being close to the water, Redland Bay gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.
  • Newer homes in Redland Bay usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Redland Bay: a local snapshot

Stretching over 52 square kilometres at the southern tip of Redland City, it takes its name from the bay on its eastern side. The red soil comes from old iron-rich volcanic lava. Ferries leave here for Russell, Macleay, Karragarra, Lamb and North Stradbroke islands, and Scenic Shores State School opened in 2024 to keep up with the growth.

How quickly does commercial solar pay back?

Businesses that operate during daylight hours typically see payback in 3 to 5 years, because almost all the solar is used on site at your full tariff rather than exported.

What size system does my business need?

It depends on your daytime load. We use your interval data or 12 months of bills to model usage and size the system so very little goes to waste.

Is there a rebate for commercial solar?

Yes. From 1 October 2026 the federal small-scale rebate (STCs) applies to systems up to 1MW, up from the old 100kW limit, with a fixed five-year deeming period. Larger systems can still use the large-scale scheme instead. We include the rebate in your quote.

Who have you installed for?

Projects include a 100kW system for Aldi Hervey Bay, 100kW for James Hardie Cooroy, 64kW for BP Gatton, 60kW for Telstra, 100kW for Metal Works Brisbane and 70kW for Bellissimo Coffee in Coorparoo.

Do you work with landlords and tenants in Redland Bay?

Yes. We can structure the proposal so it works for the building owner, the tenant or both, including power purchase style arrangements.
