EV chargers for Kelvin Grove, planned around your home

A standard power point adds only about 10km of range an hour. A dedicated 7kW wall charger is around four times faster, and a solar-aware charger can soak up your surplus solar during the day instead of exporting it for a few cents.

We check your switchboard and main supply, recommend single or three phase charging, and install the charger neatly where your car actually parks. In Kelvin Grove we can also pair the charger with new solar or a battery so it all works together.

Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. From Kelvin Grove to nearby Red Hill and Paddington, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

  • Many Kelvin Grove homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Getting to know Kelvin Grove

Once part of the Three Mile Scrub, the area got its name from Dr Joseph Bancroft, who built a house here in 1865 and named it after Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. A school opened on Kelvin Grove Road in 1875, and electric trams ran from 1901 until 1968. The army's Gona Barracks closed in 1998, and the site reopened as the Kelvin Grove Urban Village in 2003.

Older Queenslanders and post war cottages usually have simple pitched roofs that suit panels well, though the tree lined streets can mean trimming or careful placement to dodge afternoon shade.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?

A 7kW charger is typically $1,000 to $2,300 installed. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, allow another $800 to $2,200. We give a fixed price after a quick check.

Can I charge my EV from solar?

Yes. A solar-aware charger adjusts its charging speed to match your surplus solar, so you use your own power instead of exporting it. It works best if the car is home during the day.

Do I need three phase power?
