Solar panels in Virginia, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Virginia homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Virginia quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Virginia makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Virginia is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our solar panels work in Virginia also covers neighbouring Banyo, Geebung and Northgate, all within about 2km.

Virginia: a local snapshot
Farmland covered much of Virginia until the North Coast railway arrived in 1888 and the district took shape. The name is thought to come from the American state. Through the 1890s industry moved in, including a brickworks and a pipe works. The heritage-listed state school on Sandgate Road opened in February 1920, though serious house building did not get going until the 1950s.
Downfall Creek runs through with a linear park beside it, and two off-leash dog parks sit where Virginia meets Geebung and Wavell Heights. More than six parks are dotted around. Trains stop at Virginia and Bindha stations, and one of the city's bus depots is here. It is about 14.8 kilometres by road to the CBD, and the golf club bearing the name is actually across in Banyo.

Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Virginia?
Most Virginia homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Virginia?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Virginia?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Virginia 4014 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Virginia is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Banyo, Geebung, Northgate, Zillmere. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
