Going solar in Virginia
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Virginia is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Virginia: history and local area
Farmland covered much of Virginia until the North Coast railway arrived in 1888 and the district took shape. The name is thought to come from the American state. Through the 1890s industry moved in, including a brickworks and a pipe works. The heritage-listed state school on Sandgate Road opened in February 1920, though serious house building did not get going until the 1950s.
Downfall Creek runs through with a linear park beside it, and two off-leash dog parks sit where Virginia meets Geebung and Wavell Heights. More than six parks are dotted around. Trains stop at Virginia and Bindha stations, and one of the city's bus depots is here. It is about 14.8 kilometres by road to the CBD, and the golf club bearing the name is actually across in Banyo.
Plenty of 1950s homes here have low-pitched roofs and open yards, which suits a straightforward north or west-facing array, while creekside blocks should keep electrical gear well clear of the ground.
