Solar batteries in Jacobs Well, with the rebate applied
Cut your evening power bill with a home battery, installed neatly and set up to make the most of current tariffs.
Solar batteries for Jacobs Well, planned around your home
Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Jacobs Well households.
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan. From Jacobs Well to nearby Steiglitz and Norwell, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.
- Being close to the water, Jacobs Well gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Getting to know Jacobs Well
Jacobs Well sits on the Pimpama River delta where the river meets the southern end of Moreton Bay. Lions Park is the hub, with a sandy beach, an enclosed swimming area, a four-lane boat ramp, a camping ground and the Volunteer Marine Rescue base. Calypso Bay Marina gives boating access to the Broadwater. The community centre in Riesenweber Park gets a fortnightly mobile library visit.
On low delta land that has flooded before, Jacobs Well homes should keep inverters and batteries mounted high and well away from flood-prone ground, and the salty bay air calls for corrosion-resistant fixings.

Solar batteries in Jacobs Well: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735Is a home battery worth it in Jacobs Well?
For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.
How much is the battery rebate?
Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar?
Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.
What about free midday power plans?
Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.
