Solar batteries for Ransome, planned around your home

Feed-in tariffs have fallen to a few cents, while evening power still costs around 30 cents or more per kWh. A battery stores the solar you would otherwise sell cheaply and uses it after sunset, which is where the real savings now are for Ransome households.

Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. Since 1 May 2026 the discount is tapered, so the first 14kWh gets the full rate and larger batteries get less per kWh. We will show you the sweet spot for your home.

Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration. From Ransome to nearby Wakerley and Thorneside, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Ransome

Only 429 people lived here in 2021, spread across 4.8 square kilometres between Moreton Bay and Tingalpa Creek. Houses are clustered along Rickertt Road and Molle Road, while Ransome Reserve covers the undeveloped foreshore and two small unnamed islands. The Cleveland line passes through bushland without stopping. Tingalpa Creek Conservation Park and nine small public parks round it out.

Larger blocks bordered by bushland can have trees close to the house, so a shade assessment is important. Being near the bay, corrosion-resistant fixings are sensible, and a battery adds backup on the semi-rural edge.

Is a home battery worth it in Ransome?

For most households that export a lot of solar and use power in the evening, yes. With the federal discount, many batteries now pay back in roughly 6 to 9 years, and you get blackout protection as a bonus. We will run the numbers on your actual bills before you commit.

How much is the battery rebate?

Queensland homes get the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which takes roughly $250 per kWh off the first 14kWh at current certificate prices. Queensland has no separate state battery rebate open right now, and anyone telling you otherwise is out of date. The certificate rate drops every six months from January 2027, so the discount is worth less the longer you wait.

Can you add a battery to my existing solar?

Usually, yes. Most systems can take an AC-coupled battery without touching your panels. If your inverter is old or failing, a hybrid inverter replacement can be the better long-term option. We will check on site.

Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?

Only if it is installed with backup. Most batteries we install include backup for essential circuits, and some can back up the whole home. We will explain what will and will not run before you choose.

What about free midday power plans?

Retailers now offer free power in the middle of the day on some plans in South East Queensland. A battery can soak up that free window as well as your own solar, then run your home through the expensive evening peak.

Do you service Ransome 4154 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Ransome is part of our Brisbane Bayside East service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Wakerley, Thorneside, Lota, Manly West. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
