Solar panels for Biggera Waters, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Biggera Waters homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Biggera Waters makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Biggera Waters is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara. From Biggera Waters to nearby Runaway Bay and Labrador, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.
- Being close to the water, Biggera Waters gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Getting to know Biggera Waters
The name is said to come from Bigera, the Yugambeh word for the red ironbark tree. Land here was offered for sale in 1883, and a school reserve was set aside on Biggera Creek in 1889. Work started on an aerodrome in 1937, only for the war to halt it, and part of the land was sold in 1953. A bridge at the creek mouth in 1960 opened the northern side to housing, and the state school followed in 1970.
Biggera Creek runs east through the suburb into the Broadwater, meeting it at a headland called Lands End, and across the water lie Wave Break Island, The Spit and South Stradbroke Island. Harbour Town, the factory outlet centre on Brisbane Road, stands on the old Southport drive-in site. Around 27 parks and reserves dot the area, including Perry Park and Kayak Park.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Biggera Waters?
Most Biggera Waters homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Biggera Waters?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Biggera Waters?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Biggera Waters 4216 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Biggera Waters is part of our Central Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Runaway Bay, Labrador, Coombabah, Arundel. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
