Solar panels in Southport, installed properly
Tier 1 panels, proven inverters and a clean install from a team that answers the phone after the job is done.
Solar panels for Southport, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Southport homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Southport makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Southport is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara. From Southport to nearby Labrador and Main Beach, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.
- Being close to the water, Southport gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Getting to know Southport
Surveyors laid out the town in 1874 and settled on the name a year later, because it was then the southernmost port in colonial Queensland. Before that it was Nerang Creek Heads. Timber milling, sugar and grazing kept it going, a pier went in by 1883 and the railway from Beenleigh arrived in 1889. By 1901 about 1,230 people lived here, and the Jubilee Bridge to Main Beach replaced the ferry in 1925.
Southport is the Gold Coast's central business district, with the biggest pool of office space in the city and a cluster of new towers. The Nerang River runs along the south-east edge into the Broadwater, where the Broadwater Parklands and the pier draw crowds. Australia Fair, Griffith University, Gold Coast University Hospital and seven G:link stations all sit within its 15.6 km².

Solar panels in Southport: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Southport?
Most Southport homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Southport?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Southport?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Southport 4215 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Southport is part of our Central Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Labrador, Main Beach, Ashmore, Chevron Island. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
