Solar panels in Condong, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Condong homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Condong quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Condong makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Condong is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. Our solar panels work in Condong also covers neighbouring Tygalgah, South Murwillumbah and Murwillumbah, all within about 5km.
- Low-lying pockets of Condong sit inside council flood mapping. Where it matters we mount inverters and batteries above the flood planning level and keep isolators easy to reach.
- Plenty of Condong properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Condong: a local snapshot
Condong grew up around a sugar cane mill that CSR Limited opened in 1880. Since 1978 the mill has been run by the NSW Sugar Milling Co-operative, and its product ends up on shelves as Sunshine Sugar. The name comes from Bundjalung, taken from a nearby hill, and has been recorded as meaning 'blue fig' or possibly 'big swamp'.
This small village had 298 residents at the 2011 census, with a median age of 43. It sits only about 5 metres above sea level, around 4 km from Murwillumbah and 26 km from Tweed Heads. The mill remains the defining feature of the place. Condong belongs to the Tweed state electorate and the Division of Richmond.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Condong?
Most Condong homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Condong?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Essential Energy export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Condong?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Condong 2484 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Condong is part of our Tweed Heads & Tweed Coast service area in the Tweed Shire Council area, and we regularly work in Tygalgah, South Murwillumbah, Murwillumbah, Tumbulgum. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
