Solar Panels Gilberton: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Gilberton system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Gilberton makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Gilberton is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan. We look after Gilberton and the surrounding suburbs of Stapylton, Alberton and Woongoolba, so a free on-site measure in 4208 is easy to book.
- Plenty of Gilberton properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

About Gilberton
Gilberton has always been farming country rather than a town. Only 31 people lived here at the 2021 census, spread across eight square kilometres of mostly cane land. Drainage works linked to the Pimpama River have shaped how the flat ground is used. Change is on the horizon, though, with a corridor set aside through the area for the Coomera Connector road, planned to be finished by 2031.
The ground here is flat and low, sitting under 10 metres above sea level, and is crossed by Sandy Creek, Halfway Creek and other small waterways. Sugarcane covers most of it, with some cattle grazing on native vegetation in the west. Goldmine Park and Prairie Reserve are the two parks. There are no schools, so children go to Woongoolba, Ormeau or Norfolk Village for primary and Beenleigh or Ormeau Woods for high school.

Solar panels in Gilberton: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Gilberton?
Most Gilberton homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Gilberton?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Gilberton?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Gilberton 4208 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Gilberton is part of our Northern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Stapylton, Alberton, Woongoolba, Ormeau. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
