Why Griffin homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Griffin quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Griffin makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Griffin is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. Our solar panels work in Griffin also covers neighbouring Murrumba Downs, Mango Hill and Brighton, all within about 4km.

  • Newer homes in Griffin usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Griffin: a local snapshot

Griffin takes its name from a family who came out to Australia from the Orkney Islands in Scotland. For a long time it was a quiet mix of farms and houses, then the numbers took off. Around 2,360 people lived here in 2011, about 6,840 by 2016 and more than 12,000 by 2021. Griffin State School opened its doors at the start of 2016 to keep up.

The suburb runs along the northern bank of the Pine River, which splits into its North and South branches further inland. Down by the water you will find Osprey House, an environmental centre with boardwalks and a bird hide, plus a boat ramp and floating walkway on Dohles Rocks Road. Land use is still a blend of new housing and farmland. Secondary students head to Murrumba Downs.

How much does solar cost in Griffin?

Most Griffin homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Griffin?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Griffin?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Griffin 4503 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Griffin is part of our North Brisbane & Moreton Bay service area in the City of Moreton Bay area, and we regularly work in Murrumba Downs, Mango Hill, Brighton, Kallangur. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
