Solar panels for Hope Island, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Hope Island homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Hope Island makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Hope Island is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan. From Hope Island to nearby Sanctuary Cove and Coomera, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Hope Island

Captain Louis Hope came to Moreton Bay in 1848 and spent two decades building up sugar plantations. In 1867 he was granted this island, then known by its Indigenous name Boykambil, for his work on Queensland's sugar industry. The Rockholm plantation was largely built up by the Grimes family, and by the 1900s the land had passed to the Sheehan and Davidson families.

Rivers frame the suburb, with the Coomera River on three sides and Saltwater Creek to the south. It has grown as three towns, each built around a real estate development: gated Sanctuary Cove in the north, Boykambil in the east and Santa Barbara in the west. Three golf courses, The Palms, The Pines and the Hope Island Resort course, share the area with three marinas, including Hope Harbour.

How much does solar cost in Hope Island?

Most Hope Island homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Hope Island?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Hope Island?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Hope Island 4212 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Hope Island is part of our Northern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Sanctuary Cove, Coomera, Paradise Point, Coombabah. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
