Solar panels in Kangaroo Point, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Kangaroo Point homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Kangaroo Point quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Kangaroo Point makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Kangaroo Point is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our solar panels work in Kangaroo Point also covers neighbouring Spring Hill, Fortitude Valley and New Farm, all within about 1km.
- Many Kangaroo Point homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Kangaroo Point: a local snapshot
Turrbal people lived here before the convict settlement cleared the land for crops between 1825 and 1841. Land first sold in December 1843, and surveyor James Warner built the first house the following year. For decades the riverfront was given over to heavy engineering and shipbuilding. The Story Bridge opened in July 1940, and by the 1980s the old industrial edge had turned to homes and recreation.
This peninsula of hard rhyolite rock gives Brisbane its famous Kangaroo Point Cliffs, formed by old lava flows, along with Captain Burke Park beneath the Story Bridge. Ellis Street ranks among the city's steepest hills. High rise towers crowd the northern tip, with lower apartments and Queenslanders further south, and in 2011 close to 79 per cent of residents lived in units. The Holman Street ferry links to the city.

Solar panels in Kangaroo Point: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Kangaroo Point?
Most Kangaroo Point homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Kangaroo Point?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Kangaroo Point?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Kangaroo Point 4169 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Kangaroo Point is part of our Inner Brisbane service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Spring Hill, Fortitude Valley, New Farm, Teneriffe. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
