Solar Panels Pottsville: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Pottsville system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Pottsville makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Pottsville is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. We look after Pottsville and the surrounding suburbs of Hastings Point, Cabarita Beach and Tanglewood, so a free on-site measure in 2489 is easy to book.
- Being close to the water, Pottsville gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

About Pottsville
Bill Potts owned the first house in town, and the place was originally called Potts Point after him. The name was later changed to Pottsville to avoid confusion with Potts Point in Sydney. Growth since then has been steep: from 245 residents in 1971 to 1,987 in 1996, 5,735 in 2011 and 7,209 by 2021.
Housing growth has come largely through estates such as Pottsville Waters, Koala Beach, Seabreeze and Black Rocks Estate. Children attend Pottsville Beach Public School or St Ambrose Primary School. The town falls within Tweed Shire in the Northern Rivers region, on the traditional lands of the Ngandowal and Minyungbal-speaking Bundjalung people.

Solar panels in Pottsville: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Pottsville?
Most Pottsville homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Pottsville?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Essential Energy export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Pottsville?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Pottsville 2489 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Pottsville is part of our Tweed Heads & Tweed Coast service area in the Tweed Shire Council area, and we regularly work in Hastings Point, Cabarita Beach, Tanglewood, Bogangar. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
