Solar Panels Burringbar: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Burringbar system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Burringbar makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Burringbar is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. We look after Burringbar and the surrounding suburbs of Mooball, Stokers Siding and Dunbible, so a free on-site measure in 2483 is easy to book.
- Plenty of Burringbar properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

About Burringbar
Thomas Ewing, the first European owner, put up the area's first colonial building in 1888. Burringbar Station opened on the Murwillumbah line in 1894 and became an important goods stop until it closed in 1967. The name is said to come from a Yugambeh-Bundjalung word for a long war boomerang, with the ending 'bah' possibly meaning 'place of'.
Home to about 880 people in 2021, Burringbar keeps its shops along Burringbar Broadway, alongside Masterson Park, memorials to both world wars and a primary school. The Northern Rivers Rail Trail now has a stop in town. It is roughly 44 km from Tweed Heads and around 16 km from Murwillumbah, in the Tweed state electorate.

Solar panels in Burringbar: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Burringbar?
Most Burringbar homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Burringbar?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Essential Energy export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Burringbar?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Burringbar 2483 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Burringbar is part of our Tweed Heads & Tweed Coast service area in the Tweed Shire Council area, and we regularly work in Mooball, Stokers Siding, Dunbible, Pottsville. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
