Why Robina homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Robina quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Robina makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Robina is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage. Our solar panels work in Robina also covers neighbouring Merrimac, Clear Island Waters and Mudgeeraba, all within about 3km.

Robina: a local snapshot

In 1980 Robin Loh and Arthur Earle bought about 20 km² of old grazing country west of Broadbeach. Their names were blended into Robina: Robin plus an A for Arthur. Robina Land Corporation engaged designers Moshe Safdie and Robert Lamb Hart, and while it was being built it ranked as the largest master-planned community in the country. Gazettal came on 11 May 1985, and neighbouring Kerrydale was folded in on 19 May 1995.

About 25,700 people called Robina home in 2021, and the suburb works as both a residential and a commercial hub. Robina Town Centre anchors the shopping, Robina Stadium hosts the big games and Bond University has its main campus here. The Glades, a par 72 course laid out by Greg Norman, draws golfers, while schools range from Robina State School, opened in 1990, to Arcadia College.

How much does solar cost in Robina?

Most Robina homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Robina?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Robina?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Robina 4226 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Robina is part of our Southern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Merrimac, Clear Island Waters, Mudgeeraba, Varsity Lakes. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
