Why Miami homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Miami quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Miami makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Miami is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage. Our solar panels work in Miami also covers neighbouring Nobby Beach, Burleigh Waters and Mermaid Beach, all within about 3km.

  • Being close to the water, Miami gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Miami: a local snapshot

Development kicked off in the early 1920s with the Miami Shore estate at North Burleigh, named after Miami Shores in Florida. The Hotel Miami opened in 1925, and early housing was mainly wooden or fibro bungalows, some rented out to holidaymakers. Tennis courts arrived in 1953, and the 60-hectare Pizzey Park was set aside in 1969.

Miami has three beaches, Nobby, Miami and North Burleigh, with North Nobby rising 46 metres above them. Pizzey Park is the sporting hub and home to Bond Pirates rugby union, while the Burleigh Bears and an 18-hole golf club are also here. Shops and light industry line the Gold Coast Highway and Christine Avenue, and Miami State High School had over 1,250 students in 2018.

How much does solar cost in Miami?

Most Miami homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Miami?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Miami?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.

Do you service Miami 4220 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Miami is part of our Southern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Nobby Beach, Burleigh Waters, Mermaid Beach, Mermaid Waters. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
