Solar Panels Rocklea: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Rocklea system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Rocklea makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Rocklea is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. We look after Rocklea and the surrounding suburbs of Corinda, Oxley and Yeerongpilly, so a free on-site measure in 4106 is easy to book.
- Low-lying pockets of Rocklea sit inside council flood mapping. Where it matters we mount inverters and batteries above the flood planning level and keep isolators easy to reach.

About Rocklea
Rocky Waterholes Creek was the original name, swapped in 1884 when the railway opened for the shorter Rocklea, after a town in Dorset. The state school opened in 1885 and land auctions ran into the 1920s. A munitions works opened in 1941 and switched to engine overhauls in 1943, a railway factory arrived in 1949, and Brisbane Markets opened in August 1964.
Mostly industrial land, with many transport firms drawn by nearby Archerfield Airport, plus DuluxGroup's main paint plant and Brisbane Markets on Sherwood Road. Oxley Creek runs along the west, and the low-lying parts flooded badly in 1974 and again in 2010 to 2011. The 150 hectare Archerfield Wetlands are shared with neighbouring suburbs, and the old harness racing track held its final race in 2009.

Solar panels in Rocklea: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Rocklea?
Most Rocklea homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Rocklea?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Rocklea?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Rocklea 4106 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Rocklea is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Corinda, Oxley, Yeerongpilly, Archerfield. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
